Club Amity Student Body Officers

Club Amity recognizes the talents of kids of all ages and Club Members have a chance to run for office and lead out! Club Amity Officers help with co-op unification and awesomeness – not to mention the great peer leadership experience. They plan the parties, host the showcases, and reach out in friendship to all Club Kids. Club Amity Officers are voted in at the end of the year during our so-fun elections. They attend the Student Body Officer Leadership Conference hosted by BYU.

An Emphasis On Groupwork In Classes

Club Amity understands the importance of peer friendships. That’s why all Club Amity classes incorporate groupwork, partner work, and class activities. At Club Amity, you won’t find teachers teaching and students “listening,” you’ll see whole classes of friends participating together in learning activities. Club Amity is divided into age groups so Club Members can make friends with their peers. Homeschooling is the best kind of education, the one-on-one is irreplaceable, but the groupwork and projects with others is something that can’t be done in the home. Enter: Club Amity!

Focus On Friendship

Yes, all co-ops have the potential to help kids make friends. But Club Amity’s focus on friendship goes above and beyond. At Club Amity, kids meet faster, they break down the friendship barriers faster, and friendships happen. Faster. Club Amity does group work, team work, partner work – it sounds like a lot of work, but the focus on collaboration is what we’re all about! Kids who learn how to work with, lead, and support others become happy adults who know how to compromise appropriately and lead effectively.

Just the Tuesdays.

Club Amity only has co-op on Tuesdays from 9-Noon. We get together for lunch at a park for free time afterwards for families who can, but nothing is scheduled beyond Tuesdays from 9-Noon. This gives families peace of calendaring mind so they can schedule their home schooling, extracurriculars, and stuff they want to do, knowing that Club Amity will just be on Tuesdays from 9-Noon.  Club Amity has holiday parties and the Showcase Fairs each trimester during Club Amity time (on Tuesdays…from 9-Noon…) but nothing “required” is scheduled on other days or during other times. The only exception would be optional field trips that we add in, mainly because we are able to get group discounts and fun opportunities that we couldn’t do on our own.

Mom-centric!

Club Amity celebrates the hard-working homeschool moms in every way! Yes, Club Amity is the one-of-a-kind socially awesome co-op for kids, but it’s not juuuuust about the kids. At Club Amity, moms discover new friends and are strengthened by their Tuesday support sisters! Our moms like to get together outside of the club on occasion, and word on the street is they may be starting monthly “mom nights” where we can learn new skills and have fun, too! (No kids allowed for those ones, though).

Mentorship Assistance

Club Amity is not about to let our awesome moms fret about how to incorporate group work into their classes. We offer assistance, ideas, and help to get them going and keep them worry-free throughout the year. Once a family applies and a class is chosen,  they are sent a helpful document with group work ideas and how to be the most awesome-est Club Amity mentor ever! Support continues throughout the year and it’s definitely no-stress and tons of Club Amity fun.

Student Teachers

Sometimes Club Kids are not little birds anymore, they’re ready to fly! At Club Amity, we are wholeheartedly happy to involve Club Kids who have a subject to teach and would like to lead out a class. These particular Club Kids teach a Club Amity class just like the Club Moms would and they incorporate group work in their classes. These Student Teaching Club Kids have excellent attendance and exemplify the Club Amity mission of Friends First and Fun Always!
